“We are excited about the potential re-development of our much loved Community Hall”, says Bill Murdoch, Chairman of the St. Augustines Community Hall in Grimsby.
Bill was commenting on a feasibility study that is being undertaken on their behalf by local consultants CERT.
The study is looking at future uses for the hall and is asking local people for their views on how it should look, what services it should provide and whether it should become the home for new services for the people of Park ward and Bill wants as many people as possible to comment on the future use of the building.
Bill told us that another survey is being carried out to try and find out whether organizations such as the Health service, local councils and colleges and enterprise projects such as the E-factor would like to use the building as an outreach centre.
This work could lead to the building being completely refurbished and made fit for the 21st Century and we really do need the opinions of local people if we are going to attract the funding that we seek”
“We are very keen to have the opinions of as wide a range of people as possible including the wider community as well as existing users of the site” he said and went on
Once the feasibility study is complete the group will draw up plans for the revitalization of the community hall incorporating as many ideas as possible from the local community and use the document to apply for funding from a variety of sources including the National Lottery.

PRESENTATION EVENING
We will be celebrating the learning which has taken place over the first half of this academic year shortly. For those of you that have participated in accredited learning we will be having a Presentation Evening on Thursday 29th May at the Town Hall in Grimsby, 6pm - 8pm. You will be formally invited by post and requested to return your acceptance forms, so please do that as soon as possible.
If anyone would like to give a short presentation about thier learning experience or how they have applied it since completing please call Jill on 01469 472313 ext 32.
It would be especially nice to have a guest spot from some 1996-2007 learners who have gone on to do great things, so if you are reading out there, give us a call.

FREE NVQs for Volunteers from CERT
BREAKING NEWS 
Volunteers have now been added to the eligable criteria to access free NVQ training under the Train to Gain contracts.
If you are a volunteer or have volunteers within your organsiation this is a great opportunity to access over £1500 of training absolutly FREE.
